Can you imagine making God mad? The New Testament warns us, “It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31) so it should be foremost in our minds to stay on God’s good side. Now, while this should seem like it should be at the top of our “to do” list, I wonder how many of us teeter on the edge of God’s patience? When we ponder this, it is probably tempting for us to think about blatantly opposing God, but the other day I came across an interesting passage. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:29-32). Did you notice that in midst of the admonition about being kind and respectful to people was the warning not to make the Holy Spirit mad? In other words, unless we treat each other well, we run the risk of alienating (and aggravating) God.
Let’s work on our relationships with people. When we do, we are apt to improve our relationship with God

Think About It!
