Why are children so excited most of their lives? I guess there are a lot of reasons, but one that I believe to be true is that most of their adventures are new to them. Their first step, their first day at kindergarten, their first airplane ride, their first car, their first kiss … you get the picture. Not only does youth come with a bunch of firsts, it also comes with an excitement for new experiences. The mind of the moment is, “Sure, let’s give it a try!”. Have you ever thought about why we struggle with age? Could it be that we have lost our sense of adventure. Not only do we stop looking for “firsts”, we begin to fear when we face them. Our new motto becomes, “Sure is safe!”. We know what we can do and we are content to keep doing it – over and over and over again! What would happen if we harkened back to those olden days of adventure.
