I get whiny sometimes – like when the water heater goes out and disrupts my routine. We have been without a water heater for about a week now and I found myself pretty distressed. I mean, how can anyone be expected to survive in a beautiful four-bedroom house with blazing fast internet and a full refrigerator without hot water? As you can tell by my sarcasm, I have come to realize over the last couple of days that my “hardship” has not been all that bad. In fact, other than having to take a quick cold shower each morning, I am pretty much able to function reasonably normally. I have come to expect that this temporary inconvenience (the cold shower) is a small price to pay for staying in my house and enjoying my stuff. As I considered by plight, I was drawn to a passage of Scripture.
