Would you be willing to die for someone? That may be a rather shocking way to start today’s conversation, but do you love humanity enough to be willing to protect a life by risking yours? There are stories of people who do this all the time – we call them heroes. Some of them do it as a part of their profession, others by instinct. Would you be willing to do it? Now, while you ponder that, here is the main point of this discussion: would you be willing to live for someone? Often, when we think of Christian love, we think about the extremes; but the truth of the matter is that few of us will face this dilemma; however, most of us come face to face with being willing to help others each and every day of the week. The Apostle John challenged the manifestation of love by building on Jesus’ willingness to die to save mankind, then observing, “ We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives...
