Have you thought about why Jesus sent His disciples out on an impossible task? As Jesus was leaving the earth He told them, “… you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest par” (Acts 1:8). Another time He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19). Would these dozen or so folks, by themselves be able to conquer “all nations”? Why send them out on something they could never finish? Could it be that He understood that as long as there were people to teach and areas to saved, they could never be satisfied they were done with their quest? Set the bar high enough and you have a goal that will keep you striving ahead! Thousands of years later, Senator John McCain would say, “Nothing in life is more liberating than to fight for a cause larger than yourself, something that encompasses you but is not defined by your existence alon
