Election Day 2020 has the potential to turn out to be different than any of the others in my lifetime. I remember back in the day that elections returns would not be broadcast, nor would projections be made, until the polls were closed on the West Coast. Then, with the advancement of technology, media outlets became more numerous and results came in faster. It seemed like as soon as voting ended, we knew the winner. This year, with all the nuances of this election, I am not sure when we’ll know the final results! So, what can we do as we wait? How do we avoid being too anxious or adversarial in the interim? As I pondered how to prepare for this Election Day, I came across an interesting passage, “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way, because of the person who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and abandon wrath; do not get upset; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be eliminated, but tho
