One of the complaints heard most often in today’s religious community is how people are losing a commitment to their faith. It seems like people just aren’t as spiritually-minded as they once were. In all honesty, I imagine that this thought has been espoused since the second generation of Christians, but it seems to have really taken off in the last few years. As I have pondered this (and read about it), I am not sure that the issue is that there are less committed Christians as it is that there are fewer people who consider themselves “marginal” Christians. Many of the people who would have called themselves “social Christians” in years gone by have merely dropped the façade and admitted their lack of commitment. While there is no doubt that we are facing a dilemma, the question is what we are going to do about it? We can complain and fuss all we want but that isn’t going to do anything to alleviate the problem – so, what is the answer? If we are going to
