If you were to ask us, we would probably say that we are the smartest generation in the history of mankind (humbly speaking, of course). When we look back at where we’ve come from, we could probably make a claim for our advanced intellect. We are more well-read, more educated and have access to more information than at any other time in history. While this is good, there is a danger to it as well. You see, while becoming more educated in secular matters is noble, when it comes to knowing the basic truth of spirituality we can’t improve on perfection. Sure, we can all grow in our personal spiritual understanding, but when it comes to truth, perfection was achieved in the First Century. While it is possible to “overthink” Christian principles, the basic truth was established and sealed by the teachers of the New Testament.
