Are you ready for some good news?  We can always use some glad tidings, but I think we are in a time when some positive vibes could do us all some good.  Well, if you are wanting to hear something good, here it is – Jesus loves us and wants to save us!  There are times we spend a lot of time working out the mechanics of salvation – and we should make sure we are doing what we are supposed to be doing.  But for just a minute, I would like to step back and take a very broad look at the gospel (that’s just another word for good news).  As the Apostle John reflected on what he had learned through Jesus’ lifetime, he reminded us of what he had discovered, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).  I have to be honest with you, growing up in and around church, I am quite familiar with this passage, but periodically I need to go back and b...
