The other day Jeane and I sat down to watch a movie and were excited that a series we had enjoyed as younger adults had made a come-back. I must admit that the first few minutes were entertaining, but the longer the movie went, the less appealing it got! By the end of the movie, we looked at each other and agreed that it was pretty much a waste of time. So here is the question – was the movie really that much worse than the ones we used to watch or had our tastes changed? Did what we used to find funny and entertaining leave us bored and unamused? I am not saying that our sophistication excelled significantly as much as I am wondering if our tastes have matured. While there are times I probably wish I could go back in time and enjoy the silliness of days gone by, I do believe there is a natural progression as we age. This is true in entertainment, but I also believe that our spiritual standards evolve....
