How do we make a difference in the midst of a crisis? While there are a lot of options, there is an interesting formula found in the New Testament. In the midst of a discussion of human interaction, the Apostle Paul encourages people to interact by “… rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of saints, practicing hospitality.” (Romans 12:12-13). Notice how forward thinking this is. Overcoming issues looks forward in anticipation, being determined during difficult times, praying, handing out support to others and meeting people where they are. In essence, we may not necessarily have to try to find solutions to particular problems, it is just being there with them and for them.

Do you know someone who is struggling with their lives? What do they need? Do they need a lecture on how they got to where they are? Do they need directions on what they need to do? Do they need someone to walk beside them on their journey to pulling themselves out of their difficulties?

Let’s do what we can to support each other. As we do it, let’s make sure we support them as they have their own individual needs.

Think About It!
