If you would have
told me a few months ago that I could stay home and relax for several days I
would have been so pleased. Imagine
being able to get caught up on all my TV shows ... read ... put together jigsaw
puzzles and cook. The capper would be
that I wouldn’t have to feel guilty about it!
I am sure that my response would have been, “Where do I sign up?”. Now, all of a sudden, these things have
become our reality and many of us are fussing about it. What has changed? Two things – first of all, many of us are
being told that we have to do it, then comes the realization that when you are
limited in what you are able to do, the “easy” life isn’t all it is cracked up
to be.
As we go through
these unsettling and uncertain times, we need to keep in mind that it is
incumbent on “ME” to make the most of the situation at hand. Each one of us must make the decision that no
matter our circumstances, we are the ones who will
either enjoy them or
despise them. I don’t figure that the
Apostle Paul could have imagined our world today, but he spoke to us when he
wrote, “... I have learned to be content in
whatever circumstances I am.” (Philippians 4:11).
Several
years ago the television program M*A*S*H* had a scene where the soldiers were
discussing their circumstances. I recall
one of the characters commented that he couldn’t wait until they got home, but
at that time, he couldn’t imagine it. It
is easy to feel this way about our current situation, but the positive thing is
that, for most of us, we still get to control our attitudes. Hang in there! Stay safe and stay strong!
Think
About It!
