Where do we place our trust?  Are we those types of people who have to see to be convinced or do we have to prove something on our own to accept it?  Interestingly, we may claim to be faithless, but the truth of the matter is that we all live by faith in something.  It may be a faith that the other driver will stay on the other side of the road when they approach us or that the butcher didn’t go berserk and taint our T-bone.  We operate under a belief that whoever programed our computer didn’t plant some kind of bug in it that will turn our lives upside down or that the doctor we visit didn’t fall asleep in class when they were studying our current ailment.  The truth of the matter is that we all venture out somewhere in faith.

Now, having identified this network of faith, do we have problems believing in God on in the validity of the Bible?  I have to admit I am more likely to have faith in an unseen Sovereign than I do in the person who makes my burgers or packages my hot dogs.  So, if I believe in God, it’s not too much of leap of faith to accept what has been called His Bible.  Once I am willing to do that, truth becomes much easier to identify.  One of the writers of the New Testament observed, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 2:16-17).

Faith isn’t all that hard – we all have it.  So why not invest it in something that can help us live better lives and promises us an eternity in heaven after this life is over?

Think About It!
