With yesterday’s inauguration, we are officially on our way to the next era in our American history.  So, here is today’s question, “What are we going to do to make tomorrow better than today?”.  Frankly, I don’t care how you voted last November or whether you tuned in to watch yesterday’s activities – my concern is all about what you and I are going to do to improve our nation and our world.  We can spend the future complaining about where we are or fusing about where we have been … or we can pull together and make a difference one person, one interaction, one day at a time.  Throwing political bombs at each other doesn’t damage them (whoever they are), it only hurts “us”!

So, now that the pomp and circumstance has settled down, let’s make a concerted effort to pull together and start building a better community.   We often hear that government can’t legislate morality, but I am also convinced that it cannot legislate cooperation.  We can’t depend on Washington to govern us into a brighter future – that is reserved for you and me leading a grassroots effort to love and respect one another.  I agree that our governmental leaders will provide a framework by which we can operate, but at the end of the day our quality of life will be determined by how we – you and me – decide to treat one another and commit to working together.

History has taught us that dissention will stall progress.  Let’s try something different and see if we can’t move forward toward the potential of a new hope – not a promise made by a political party, but one envisioned by people who genuinely care about their fellow man.  By listening to each other and respecting one another we can make a difference that will provide a solid foundation for generations to come!

Think About It!
