I was shuffling through some notes the other day and came across one that made me think.  I don’t know if it was something I thought up or if it was a quote from a book I was reading, but the note says, “Society doesn’t get to define what is important in my life.”.   After contemplating this, it probably is something I read somewhere else because I am not sure I could come up with a concept that is that enlightening.  Whether it was my idea or one I borrowed, the point is pretty important to me these days.  I am often a chameleon who tends to allow the world to sneak into my priorities.  I get too wrapped up in current events and modern issues and allow them to occupy too much of my time.  Folks, there are a lot of issues being discussed in today’s world that don’t impact and shouldn’t influence me.  When I spend too much of my life engulfed in “borrowed” issues, I lose my focus and my energy.  When I am out fighting battles that really aren’t important to me or even apply to me, I don’t have the time or energy to do what I should be doing.

Let’s not get sidetracked by what the world tells us is important.  Let’s live life on purpose and tactically invest ourselves in those things that should matter to us.  When we do, we will find more time for rest, relaxation and peace.

Think About It!
