If you were to open up the Bible and read about obedience, you might get the impression that doing the right thing is always easy and rewarding. I mean, after all didn’t God tell His chosen people, “You should diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you. You shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you and that you may go in and possess the good land which the Lord swore to give your fathers, by driving out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has spoken.” (Deuteronomy 6:17-19)? Well, you might think that it would be easy, but I am afraid you would be disappointed. Sure, sometimes doing the right thing is a no-brainer and makes us feel good about ourselves, but many other times, doing the right thing is difficult, confusing and sometimes it might even be dangerous. Yet, what should we do? The answer is to do the right thing anyway! There are times when satan and his minions make doing the right thing difficult in hopes that God’s people will take the easy way out; however, we have to stand by God’s principles and maintain our goodness.

Is there something you need to be doing that is tough? Let’s keep in mind that evil often takes the path of least resistance. We settle for doing what causes us the least amount of pain rather than what does the most amount of good. Let’s be strong and committed! When we do, we (and the world) will be better.
Think About It!
