What will you remember most about 2024? Almost every one of us will have an accomplishment we made in the past year – and some of them might have been significant – however, when we look back on the year, what will we think about? For all too many of us, the most vivid memories will be negative. Maybe it will be the mistake(s) we made or possibly the opportunities that were lost; but it is tempting to reflect on our regrets. Now, while we all had something that didn’t go the way we hoped, let’s not let 2024 be remembered for what didn’t happen – let’s make it is point to reflect on and be proud of what we did accomplish. Before we head off into a new year, let’s take one last look back and make a conscious effort to appreciate the good that happened. The positives may not stand out – and, honestly, may not even outshine the struggles – but let’s find something positive about the year.
I believe it is human nature to focus on what doesn’t happen (or highlight the problems we encounter), but when we replay our victories we’ll be in a better position to plan for success in the future. Not only will it bring back good memories, they will become a foundation upon which we can build for tomorrow.
Before we head off into the resolutions of the new year, let’s take the time to enjoy the reflections from the old one. If we are honest with ourselves, it probably was a lot better than we initially imagined.
Think About It!
