One of the most often prevalent discussions these days is, “Will you get the vaccination?”.  There are many who believe it has preventative powers and would volunteer to be first in line.  Others aren’t so sure and are apt to wait to see how it goes.  Then, there are some who just won’t do it – they will not get vaccinated.  Everyone has access to the same information, but they will process it individually.

As I thought about this scenario, I got to thinking about another decision we will all make in our lives, a belief in Jesus.  We all have access to the information about Jesus as written in the Word of God and evidenced in the natural world but it is up to us to decide what we are going to do with it.  Some people believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and accept Him as Lord of their lives.  Others may develop a limited belief that He exists and will spend a lifetime weighing the value of His presence in their lives.  The last group will completely reject Jesus and deny His claim.  I confidently believe that the first group will find comfort in the loving arms of the Lord and the last group will receive the consequences of their unbelief, but what about that third group – the ones who are waiting?  Well, the truth is that we must all live with the decisions we make.  Some in this undecided group will eventually lose interest and will just naturally fall away, but too many others will just never make a decision and remain alienated from Jesus.  Either their own death or the second coming of Jesus will signal an end to their ability to choose and their lot will be cast for them.  Unless we purposefully choose Him, we run the risk of Him rejecting us!  Remember Jesus’ call to the 1st Century, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.” (Matthew 7:21).

What have you decided about Jesus?  The choice we make about a vaccine will have an impact on our physical health, but our decision about Jesus will determine our spiritual destiny
