I made a pretty telling discovery last weekend – I realize how much I missed the sun.  I have gotten into the bad habit of getting off work, coming home and sitting around the house.  Sure, I might have told myself I was social distancing, but the truth was I was hiding out.  It was easier to come home, eat supper and plant myself in front of the TV set and watch shows I wasn’t all that interested in watching.  Thankfully, last weekend our daughter and granddaughters came for a visit and got me out of the house and into an outdoor pool.  It was so nice to enjoy the cool water and the warm sunshine.  I did get a little pink in a few areas, but it was a small price to pay for how good it felt.
The reason I bring this up is not just to encourage you to get out and enjoy some time in nature, rather to ask you to get reintroduced to the Son.  Our world can be a dark and dingy place, especially when we take on all the cares of what is going on, but something special happens when we get a little “Light therapy” offered by the Son of God.  When we experience the love, forgiveness, peace and direction offered by Jesus, something wonderful happens to our attitudes.  When we experience the warmth of Someone who loved us enough to die for us, it fills us with joy and contentment.  Jesus described Himself by saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”.  (John 8:12).  Let’s take the time to open up His Word and fill our lives with the message that provides the solution to what ails us.
