Isn’t it great to live in the land of liberty?  Isn’t it wonderful to have the freedom to make the choices we want to make?  That has been one of the appeals of the American way of life, but over the last few years, this freedom has been expanded.  Not only can we choose the way we want to live, we have a plethora of outlets through which we can express our opinions about the choices we make.  We have the ability to do what we want to do and the conduit through which we can defend our actions with our philosophies.
We are so blessed to live a life of liberty, but we must be careful to remember that just because we have the freedom to live in the way we choose, that doesn’t mean that our choices are correct.  Just because society or even the law gives us the ability to choose, that doesn’t mean that our opinion is the right one.  Centuries ago, a wise man wrote, “Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.” (Proverbs 21:2).  Our world blesses us with the ability to live unencumbered by most restrictions, but when it comes to God, it is His opinion that really matters.  Yes, we have quite a bit of liberty and freedom in our pursuit of godliness, but we must be careful to stay within the confines of His will.
Let’s enjoy the freedom of our land, but let’s never lose sight of the will of God.  Living an unabated lifestyle might make this life easier and more fun, but being faithful to Him is where we find the true joy of eternity.
Think About It!
